The Objective Board is a kind of quest list in Assassins Creed Shadows. It is very similar to the investigation board from Assassin's Creed Mirage, but this one has been expanded. On this guide page, we described how the Objectives tab works, how to track quests, and how the Objective Board's appearance can change as you progress in the campaign.

The scouts mechanic is associated with finding mission objectives from the board. We described it in detail on the page How do scouts work?.

Is there a quest journal?

  1. You will gain access to the Objective Board after finishing the prologue. The game will unlock the Objectives tab - open it to see the board. This replaces the classic quest journal, something you will not find in AC Shadows.
  2. The board is divided into 3 main sections. The upper part of the screen is for quests related to various provinces. Additionally, you will find there information about the condition of the hideout and the buildings placed in it.
  3. The middle part of the screen is dedicated primarily to the League - this is where the most important allies of the main characters are gathered. Not all of these characters are immediately visible - some of them have to be found during exploration. Here, you also have sections dedicated to Naoe and Yasuke where personal quests of the main characters may gradually appear.
  4. The bottom part of the screen contains various categories of objectives that you need to find and neutralize. The main plot objectives are Shinbakufu, but there are also plenty of optional ones available. Most of them you have to discover first, for example, by talking to a character who orders their elimination.

How to read information from the Objective Board?

  1. On the board, you can find portraits of allies or enemies. If a person's identity is known right away, their portrait will appear after your first encounter. It may also happen that a person's identity is hidden - in that case, you first need to complete the quests related to discovering their identity.
  2. Quest markers are under the portrait of a given character. It can be one mission or a series of minor tasks associated with a given person.
  3. You can track each mission, but only one can be active at a time. From the Objective Board, you can also read information about the type and recommended level for the mission, the first mission objective, and the expected rewards for completing it. This last element will make it easier for you to choose quests with the best rewards first.
  4. The absence of quest markers under the character's portrait means there are no tasks. This can be permanent or temporary. Always return to the board if an exclamation mark appears in the Objectives tab. By making progress in the plot in a given section, you can unlock a new quest.
  1. The objectives on the board may also have markings indicating that the target has been murdered (red icon) or spared (yellow icon - example in the above picture). Some of these decisions are forced by the game, and in other situations, the game may leave you with a choice - whether to kill a certain person or let them live.
  2. In both cases, the given objective is considered accomplished, so after dealing with all of them in a given category, you can return to the quest giver and collect the reward.
