Successor to real-time strategy, enriched with RPG elements and mechanics borrowed from board games. The game was developed by the independent Danish studio Playwood Project, which has a game based on a similar concept, Wartile, in its portfolio.

Gameplay

In Successor we watch the events from a bird's eye view.

The world immersed in conflict

The game takes us to a fantasy kingdom torn apart by civil wars and forbidden magic. The world has been divided into regions, each guarded by a hostile Lord serving as a boss and residing in a powerful fortress. The land and all its contents (from maps, through quests, to events and enemy placement) are procedurally generated, and we push the adventure forward by completing tasks.
