Spellcasting 101: Sorcerers Get All the Girls

Spellcasting 101: Sorcerers Get All the Girls is the first part of a trilogy about the adventures of a young student of the University of Magicians - Ernie Eaglebreak. The program was created by Steven Meretzky, who before working for Legend Entertainment became famous for producing games for Infocom (including The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy and Leather Goddesses of Phobos).

The plot of the game focuses on the adventures of Ernie, spending his first days at the University. A wizard candidate must win the heart of a certain Lola Tigerbelly, a beautiful lady trapped in a tall tower, watched over by an unpleasant dragon. The task is not easy and in addition to solving problems in natural ways, it will also require the use of magical spells.

The program uses an innovative interface, which was later successively used and developed in all productions signed with the Legend Entertainment logo. At first glance, the game resembles a traditional "text" - and this is indeed the case - but for the 's convenience, the list of all commands (and there is a whole lot of them) is pushed into the window on the left side. Thanks to this, the player can construct sentences from available words and not be tired of tedious text typing, although the program also provides for such a possibility.
