A strategy game, in which we take over a drone and focus on expanding a space station. Outworld Station allows us to play alone or in coop mode. Our tasks include gathering resources, building new structures, automating processes and facing various threats.
Outworld Station is a strategy game in which we control the titular space station. The game was developed by the independent British studio Trickjump Games, which has projects such as Battle Royale Trainer and ArcRunner in its portfolio.
In Outworld Station we watch events in an isometric view. During the game, we build a space station from scratch, using a special drone created for this purpose.
Initially, we only have a small object capable of acquiring and processing basic resources. Over time, we begin to develop it, gaining access to increasingly advanced technologies and resources. We can visit asteroids or gas clouds in the search for materials, as well as use antimatter.
The gathered resources allow us to create increasingly complex supply chains (it's worth trying to optimize them as much as possible), as well as to construct transport ships. We can also unlock new technologies and build even more futuristic structures like space-time tunnels.
In the initial phase of the game we have to do most things ourselves, but as we progress the range of our possibilities in of automating individual processes expands.
Another important aspect of gameplay is expansion. The Tau system is teeming with planets and other objects to exploit, as well as alien artifacts waiting to be discovered and utilized. These last ones unlock various upgrades both for the station (increasing its power and production efficiency), and for our drone (providing it with weapons, shields or boosters).
Before we proceed with the construction of the next stations and connecting them with each other using the aforementioned tunnels, we should bear in mind that in this corner of the cosmos, there are also other forces at work, which may be disturbed by our presence. For this reason, it is necessary to about the need to build ships and other military structures, as well as about the modernization of the drone, so that it can defend itself against threats if necessary.
Outworld Station allows for single-player fun or online co-op gameplay for up to 4 people.
The game operates on the Unreal Engine.
