Joe Dever's Lone Wolf offers a new story, which takes place between the third and fourth volume of the original paragraph game. Joe Dever, the creator of the whole series, is responsible for the script, which ensures the high quality of the plot. The campaign takes place in the kingdom of Sommerlund, which only a powerful forest separates from the land of evil, Darkands. When with the village of Rockstarn ceases, there is a growing fear that something could have gone through the forest. We play the role of a powerful warrior, the last representative of the legendary Kai Lords Brotherhood, who is sent to investigate the case.
Joe Dever's Lone Wolf remains true to the basic principles of the genre, but at the same time, the authors have shown considerable ambition and decided to combine text narration with 3D graphics. Exploration, conversations and moral choices are made in a book-like environment enriched with music and occasional drawings. Every now and then players have to make a decision and their choices take the story to a new track. The whole was written in such a way as to offer a considerable non-linearity so that we can go through the campaign many times, each time discovering new adventures.
The battle sequences have been realized is a style typical for modern RPG games. Tactical battle system offers a lot of freedom and the fights are in full 3D. The battles take place in a turn-based system, but they have also been enriched with arcade elements. We have a number of attacks and special techniques at our disposal, and we often have to show good reflexes when performing them by pressing the buttons at the right time, which allows us to increase the damage dealt. In addition, the authors have not forgotten about the character development mechanics, which allows you to spend experience points on improving the character's stats and skills.
