Helldivers for PC, PS4 and etc. is an arcade science fiction shooter developed by Arrowhead Game Studio. Once again, creators of games like Magicka or The Showdown Effect give the players a game focused on up to four players cooperative mode, though one person can play its campaign. Gameplay in Helldivers is presented from an isometric point of view and focuses heavily on dynamic action and fighting with more and more kinds of enemies.
The Plot
Helldivers for PC, PS4 and etc. takes place in a distant future where we take the role of a member of the elite military unit called Helldivers. This unit is the last line of desenfe of mankind, and the existence of our species is uncertain. Three different alien races invade a politically divided planet called Super Earth. Helldivers have to do whatever they can to protect the Super Earth from the total annihilation and face the invading forces.
Mechanics
The game’s entire community shares campaign in Helldivers for PC, PS4 and etc.. It means that successes and failures of other players influence how our story ends. Intergalactic wars happen in tours that last for a couple of weeks each. When a tour ends, another one is generated (determined on the outcome of the previous one). All the time players have access to procedurally generated missions (targets, numbers of enemies, and maps are completely random). As we progress with missions, we get new weapons and upgrades, and climb up on the ranking table. Before we start a mission, we can choose up to four perks for our character.
Misc.
Helldivers on consoles from the PlayStation family have the Cross-Play option; meaning players owning PlayStation 4, PlayStation 3, and PlayStation Vita can play together. It is also possible to continue our campaign on a different PlayStation device thanks to the Cross-Save function. Helldivers for PC, PS4 and etc. can be played only by, and with, the players who own the game on Steam.
