A futuristic, first-person perspective action game developed by Bungie Software – the creators of the iconic Halo series. The title takes place in a distant future, in 28th century, when humanity is on the brink of destruction at the hands of an alien civilization.
Destiny for PS4, X360 and etc. is the first game set in new sci-fi universe created by Bungie Software, previously known mostly thanks to Halo - an extremely popular series of first-person shooters dedicated for the Xbox family consoles. Similarly to the Master Chief games, the main character in Destiny also takes part in battles with enemy civilizations. However, for a change, this time the players can fight with other players.
The story takes us into the future of the XXVIII century, when after the unexpected end of the Golden Age, the humankind is on the edge of extinction. According to legend, the only solution for the unknown enemy, who devastating our species turn out to be the mysterious, enormous alien ship, called the Traveler, which similarly to a second moon is hanging just above the surface of the planet. The survived people ed the forces and built the Last Town on Earth, which was the base for rising civilization. Now, however, the danger came back, and hostile creatures try to exterminate humanity completely.
The players portray the Guardians, who are able to use the extraordinary powers supplied by the Traveler. Guardians were divided into three different classes: Titan has got heavy armor and high firepower, Hunter prefers to do the tasks from concealment and is extremely good at wielding of sniper rifles, while Warlock specializes in using magic. Destiny promotes common play - although theoretically you can play without looking at the others, the players often meet people who can help them achieve specific objectives, finish quests etc. There are also elements of rivalry. Destiny for PS4, X360 and etc. has its own multiplayer fights mode, which has been integrated with the rest of the game. At any time, the player can take part in the fight against other players, and to this, there have been prepared separate maps and special modes.
The world of Destiny is not only the Earth but also the Moon and other planets of the solar system and even spacecraft wrecks floating in space. Each player can get his/her own spaceship, which will help to explore the farthest ends of the galaxy. There are also various opponents on our way, for example, insectoid aliens known as the Fallen, Vex robots, which can travel in time or zombie-like creatures.
Destiny is based on the author's Bungie studio engine written for the PlayStation 4 and Xbox One, so the production is one of the most beautiful games of the period. Similarly, the high levels present music. The soundtrack was composed by Marty O'Donnell and Mike Salvatori, the authors of the music created for Halo, and Paul McCartney, the former member of The Beatles.

Destiny Review: Bungie's great come back?
Bungie spared no expense to create a great looking mix of shooter and MMO, but high production value and pretty nice gameplay can’t hide that Destiny is just shallow, and it can’t live up to the hype.

"Video games as a service" is usually associated with unfair microtransactions, lacking content and watered-down story – but there's more to it. The term also implies an opportunity the devs have to mend the things that don't work properly.

Another major expansion to the multiplayer FPS by Bungie Software, published in autumn 2014. The plot revolves around a breach in the wall, located on the southern border of Old Russia, which let hordes of fallen mutants get into the Golden Age graves, filled with valuable artifacts. Along with Lord Saladin, players set off on a journey to stop the danger and reveal the truth about the of the Iron Lords. The DLC does not dramatically change mechanics and centers on a campaign featuring a number of main and side missions. Eurogamer: 8 / 10 by Oli Welsh
But in the white heat of the Strike playlists - or in Heroic mission runs with a friend, or in the unheralded arrival of a public event whilst tooling around in Patrol - Destiny blazes a clear trail through the middle of the desolate no man's land that, for years now, has segregated the bombastic emptiness of shooter campaigns from the frenetic slaughter of multiplayer. And it does so with a poise and depth that its few peers - games like the charming but scrappy Borderlands and Far Cry - cannot match; a poise and depth that will keep people playing it for years.
God is a Geek: 8 / 10 by Mick Fraser
But it's not that game right now. Destiny is a confident, solid, sometimes stunningly beautiful shooter with RPG mechanics that add longevity and depth, and the beginnings of what could be an incredible online universe. But it feels like the tip of the glacier, and I'm not sure it's a good thing to be more excited about what a game might one day be, than what it actually is.
DualShockers: 8.5 / 10 by Giuseppe Nelva
Destiny may not be a masterpiece, but it beats quite a few masterpieces where it really matters.
