Nova Roma is an Ancient City Builder From Kingdoms and Castles Devs
This year's PC Gaming Show brought fans of city builders the announcement of Nova Roma. As the name suggests, the game will take us back to the twilight of the Roman Empire.

At this year's PC Gaming Show 2023, Lion Shield, developers of the charming medieval Kingdoms and Castles, announced a new city-builder strategy. Nova Roma - as it is called - is described as a spiritual successor to the developers' earlier title and, as can be seen from the title, thematically referencing ancient Rome. The announcement was graced with a gameplay trailer, which gives a better look at what the developers have prepared for us..
Players will be tasked with founding a new Roman city far from the crumbling empire. The goal will not only be to survive, but also to develop and please both its citizens and the gods.
The task will not prove easy, as we will have to demonstrate an excellent sense of planning. The published material shows the great importance of water in the game, which will pose quite a threat to our city. In addition, it is to be important to properly manage the ever-expanding supply chains to meet the growing demands of the citizens. The changing cycle of seasons is also an interesting feature.
Recall that the aforementioned Kingdoms and Castles currently has 24,441 reviews on Steam, of which as many as 92% are positive. At the all-time peak (a few years ago), the game was played by 4856 people simultaneously. It remains to be hoped that Lion Shield will provide us with an equally solid title.
Unfortunately, the developers did not provide an exact release date for the game. All that is known is that Nova Roma will debut on Steam 2024.
