Metro dev’s VR shooter ARKTIKA.1 given release date; pre-orders are now open
The developer of Metro is going to release its new game next month. ARKTIKA.1 is a VR shooter set in a post-apocalyptic, frozen world.
4A Games, the developer of the ARKTIKA.1, which is a post-apocalyptic VR shooter. This time, however, instead of featuring a world after a nuclear war, the devs throw the players into a new ice age. The year is 2120, the change of climat has left the globe covered in ice, and the survivors are fighting for whatever is left of human civilization. You play as a mercenary hired to protect a colony in the Vostok region in former Russia.
ARKTIKA.1 is set to launch on October 10, 2017, and will be available for sale in Oculus Store. But you can already pre-order the game and get a 10% discount off the regular price of $29.99. The title is sold together with a companion e-book, which introduces the background story, written by Christie Golden, an experienced gaming fiction writer – you can read about that on this website.
