Current-Gen Games Will Run Faster on PS5
Sony has shared additional details about the backward compatibility of games that the PS5 is supposed to offer. The software developed by Sony engineers will allow us to play older productions with a higher frame rate.

Sony's backward compatibility patent for games has been updated with new information. The technical details can be found in the document provided (thanks, VG247). It shows that the manufacturer will not only make it possible to launch older games on PS5, but will also improve their framrate.
Real-time control of app-specific parameters to ensure backward compatibility means that developers will not need to adjust the code of PS4 games for it to be smoothly playable on PlayStation 5. The optimization process will be partly automated. The console itself will select the appropriate parameters for the game's requirements, including U and GPU timing.
To find the best settings for given titles, Sony will measure benchmark data running on PS4 and PS5, compare the collected information and then "overclock" the game properties like a professional hardware overclocker until it finds the parameters most similar to the native settings.

In addition, developers will receive to improve the performance of their games on the new console. They will be able to use the power of PS5 to improve stability and increase the frame rate. Even if the developers do not decide to make any changes to the source code, Sony will make sure that the games will load faster thanks to SSDs.
