Probably no one is surprised anymore by the next leaks from the environmental destruction. It's worth to look into the latter.

Hammer for destroying structures

From the latest leaks (via MP1st), it appears that DICE studio will introduce melee weapons into the new Battlefield, which will receive a quite interesting function. With it, we will be able to destroy elements of the environment, such as building walls.

In the clip, we see a player using a large hammer to destroy a wall. Each impact causes the breakdown of specific fragments, leading to dynamic animation. It's uncertain if the hammer is effective on all types of structures, but if it appears in the full version, it will definitely add an intriguing element to the gameplay.

Improved voice chat and types of ammunition

Apart from the clip with the hammer, some extra information was also extracted thanks to the Battlefield Labs files. We learned, for instance, about the improved voice chat, which will offer 4 modes.

  1. Automatic, the game itself decides on the appropriate mode.
  2. Flat, reproduced without any effects.
  3. Directional, the voice is positioned in relation to the place where the soldier is located.
  4. In the game world, the voice will be appropriately distant or close depending on the proximity of the soldier.

Moreover, there are 10 types of ammunition with varied effects. The last three are for shotguns.

  1. FMJ (Full Metal Jacket) - basic one with standard penetration.
  2. Tungsten Core - a heavier core providing greater penetration and recoil.
  3. Frangible - breaks apart upon impact, slowing down health regeneration.
  4. Polymer Case - a lightweight casing that provides greater mobility when aiming.
  5. Hollow Point - expands upon impact, ensuring greater damage when shot in the head.
  6. Synthetic Tip - a synthetic tip that increases range and damage when shooting in the head.
  7. Match Grade - precise ammunition with excellent ballistic parameters.
  8. Buckshot - standard load for a shotgun.
  9. Flechette - steel projectiles with better penetration, which slow down regeneration.
  10. Slug - a single, heavy projectile causing significantly more damage.

The new Battlefield still doesn't have an exact release date, but according to EA, the game should launch before April 1, 2026.
