Windward Horizon is a sequel to the sandbox game Windward, released a decade earlier. This sea adventure RPG was created by the independent studio Tasharen Entertainment. It allows for free exploration of a randomly generated 17th-century universe.

Gameplay

The game does not have clear objectives. We start as a rookie on a small ship, traversing the seas in search of treasures, fishing, trading, and performing missions for one of the five factions. Quests include naval battles, supply deliveries, rescuing orphaned ships, and even spreading propaganda on behalf of the faction.

Our actions have their consequences - provinces require resources to function. Providing them leads to the development and prosperity of cities. Working for a chosen faction can hinder another, and ultimately contribute to the seizure of power in the province without bloodshed.
