When The Past Was Around is a point-and-click adventure game, which was developed by the independent Mojiken studio. The production was supervised by Brigitta Rena, author of such games as A Raven Monologue and She and The Light Bearer.

Plot

The main character of When the Past Was Around is a 20-year-old girl named Edda. In pursuit of her dreams and love, the protagonist got lost in her life. Hope for her is The Owl, the mysterious creature who takes her on a journey through memories to rekindle her ion and teach her what love is (and what it involves) and help her discover the secrets of her life.

Mechanics

In When The Past Was Around, the action was shown from the side. The game takes place in successive rooms, where we have a number of environmental puzzles to solve, related to everyday activities. The protagonist must, for example, have a cup of tea, open a chest with long forgotten "treasures" or even do laundry. After solving all the puzzles in one room, we get access to the next place, where the next intellectual challenges await us.

Technical aspects

The strong point of When The Past Was Around is the audio-visual layer. The hand-drawn graphics of this production demonstrate a high level, and the game takes place to the accompaniment of music played on the cello.
