Wasteland 3 Expansion Pack
Release Date: June 3, 2021
The first big expansion to Wasteland 3, the turn-based RPG developed by Brian Fargo's team. The expansion takes us on a journey to the industrial complex of Steeltown, responsible for the production of weapons for the Patriarch of post-apocalyptic Colorado.
Wasteland 3: The Battle of Steeltown is the first big expansion to Wasteland 3, the third installment of the cult post-apocalyptic RPG series by inXile Entertainment studio, headed by Brian Fargo. The expansion takes the player to the Steeltown, the industrial heart of post-apocalyptic Colorado.
Set during the events of Wasteland 3, the story revolves around the titular town of Steeltown, which is home to a massive factory complex producing weapons, armour, machinery and vehicles for use by the hardline Colorado Patriarch. However, no deliveries have been coming from the town for some time, and the town manager, Abigail Markham, refuses to give an explanation. The Patriarch then sends the Desert Rangers to investigate. Once there, the situation in Steeltown turns out to be dire. Workers are on strike, bandits are on the rampage and the town gates are locked. As Ranger, you must discover what is happening in Steeltown and save the town - or bring it down completely.
The gameplay basics in the add-on remain largely unchanged. We are still dealing with turn-based tactical strategy based on unit positioning and use of special skills. However, DLC introduces many minor modifications aiming at improvement of the game. We face new enemies and acquire new types of weapons. One of them, for example, is a stun weapon for pacifist players. The add-on also introduces the ability to apply several status effects to enemies at once, as well as shields to protect against elemental damage. Buying the DLC adds all new improvements to the basic game as well.
Just like the main game, The Battle of Steeltown allows you to play the entire campaign solo or in co-op with another player.
The audiovisual setting has not changed significantly. The game still runs on the Unity engine and features eye-pleasing graphics. The DLC also includes new songs composed by Mark Morgan.

Wasteland is a series of post-apocalyptic RPGs initiated by the production of the same title, released in 1988. The item, developed by the studio Interplay Productions (later Interplay Entertainment) under the leadership of Brian Fargo, not only gave life to the brand, which after more than twenty years began to develop the team inXile Entertainment, but also laid the foundation for the cult series Fallout, Interplay's next masterpiece. Games under the banner of Wasteland have made their mark on both personal computers and consoles.
The first story DLC for Wasteland 3 has received a release date. We will return to post-apocalyptic Colorado on June 3 in The Battle of Steeltown.

Game Ratings for Wasteland 3: The Battle of Steeltown Video Game.
PPE.pl: 8 / 10 by Mateusz Wróbel
Wasteland 3: The Battle of Steeltown is a decent extension, which should be of particular interest to those still wanting to stay in snowy Colorado and those who are just coming to it.
COGconnected: 67 / 100 by Tony Bae
Thankfully, the humorous writing is still there and I will it that Wasteland 3: The Battle of Steeltown got a few chuckles out of me. The environment and models for the area also look awesome, and the unique flair of folk-tunes makes a great return (I just wish there was more). Overall, Battle of Steeltown is decent but if you are a Wasteland fan, I would recommend you wait for a sale to pick this one up.
Digital Chumps: 7.4 / 10 by Steven McGehee
For die-hard Wasteland 3 fans, this expansion offers a compelling reason to return, but at a price that’s a little bit proud. For more casual players, or those who have yet to dive into Colorado, you may be well advised to wait for the inevitable complete edition that will probably release next year.
