Warplanes: Battles over Pacific is an flight sim, the next installment of the series created by the indie Polish studio Home Net Games, the sequel to Warplanes: WW1 Fighters. Like the previous game, it was designed to be played using virtual reality sets.
The action takes place during World War II. We play as an Allied pilot and fight against Japanese troops over the waters of the Pacific, contributing to the victory of the United States over the Empire of Japan.
We observe the action, i.e. the cabin of our plane and the mission side it, as well as the environment, from the eyes of the protagonist. We have access to ten of the most recognizable aircraft (both American and Japanese) known from battles over the Pacific. We maneuver them in the air and fire at enemy flying and floating units with the use of cannons.
Planes can be customized by painting individual parts in the colors of your choice.
Warplanes: Battles over Pacific offers a single player campaign, co-op missions for several players, as well as a PvP mode in which we can face off against others over the network.
Virtual reality sets (Valve Index, HTC Vive, Oculus Rift, Windows Mixed Reality) and motion controllers are required to play.
