Release Date: 2026
A sequel of the dynamic retro FPS (boomer shooter) from 2023, set in the WH40K universe. Warhammer 40,000: Boltgun 2 continues the story from the first game. It also features non-linear progression, new locations, new types of enemies and new weapons we can use to eliminate them.
Warhammer 40,000: Boltgun 2 is a direct sequel to the old-school first-person shooter (FPS) that Auroch Digital studio released in 2023. The sequel was created by the same team, but under the wings of a different publisher. Focus Entertainment was replaced by Big Fan Games, a division of Devolver Digital.
Warhammer 40,000: Boltgun 2 offers us a non-linear story campaign, which throws us into various corners of the Warhammer 40,000 universe. The game allows us to visit unique locations, like a gigantic city-hive or a world overgrown with jungle. We are not presented with a path that we must follow. Instead, the game allows us to choose our own path with unique levels.
As we explore locations, we carry out the tasks set before us and eliminate hordes of enemies. On the battlefield, we primarily use a chain sword (a hybrid of a sword and a chainsaw) and a shotgun, as well as more elaborate, futuristic weapons. We encounter various opponents, led by the previously unseen Bloodsuckers and Khorne's Juggernauts.
The graphic design of Warhammer 40,000: Boltgun 2 was maintained in the retro style known from the first part of the series, which was inspired by the genre's heavyweights from the mid-1990s.
