Enriched with elements taken from time management games, roguelike production, in which we take control over the train crew traversing procedurally generated locations. Our main task here is to search for raw materials used to create rails, on which the constantly moving composition moves. Unrailed! is designed for multiplayer fun.
Unrailed! is an imaginative roguelike game enriched with management elements. The game was developed with multiplayer mode at its core. Unrailed! was developed by the independent Swiss studio Indoor Astronaut, and published by Daedalic Entertainment.
In Unrailed! the action is shown from the top-down perspective. During the game, players take control of the train crew travelling along various procedurally generated locations; their list includes picturesque plains as well as snow-capped mountain peaks, sandy deserts, and volcanic deserts. The train is constantly moving, and our actions must constantly (and as soon as possible) put the railway tracks in front of it, so that it can safely reach the station. For their construction players need raw materials in the form of wood and metal.
This is complicated not only by the numerous obstacles that the train has to through (in addition, the locomotive has to be cooled down from time to time with water, otherwise it may burn), but also by the inhabitants of given areas. While some of the latter are friendly towards railwaymen, even offering them various tasks, others (aggressive fauna representatives being the most prominent ones) - quite the contrary. However, as players progress, they can upgrade their train making it a little easier to play.
Unrailed! facilitates multiplayer mode over the Internet or on a split screen. In addition to the cooperative mode, the game allows plyers to compete within the Versus mode, as well as facing endless challenges waiting in Endless mode.
Unrailed! has colorful, three-dimensional visuals, maintained in an unusual style; its individual elements consist of cubic blocks.
