Ultimate iral: Age of Sail is divided into two segments. The first one focuses on naval combat. The player has at his disposal a number of well-reproduced ships from this period, divided into three categories. Each vessel features specific parameters such as speed and manoeuvrability. They determine not only their agility, but also their resistance to damage. During combat, the attack force is calculated based on the characteristics of the cannon and the distance covered by the projectile. If this value is greater than the strength of a ship's hull, the projectile will penetrate into the interior of the ship and deal damage to its internal components.

Of course, ships must be manned and assigned to appropriate tasks. Each recruit is defined by a number of parameters, which make him appropriate for specific positions. Each of their actions under players' command additionally makes them develop their skills.

The second option is onshore actions taking place across Europe, North America, and a number of islands in the Atlantic. The player then directs the actions of a large infantry unit.

Technical aspects

In Ultimate iral: Age of Sail visuals are not rich with details. The greatest emphasis was put on faithful representation of ships characteristic for that period.
