The Guild 2 Expansion Pack
Release Date: October 10, 2008
The second expansion to The Guild, a real-time strategy game with RPG features, developed by 4Head Studios. True to its title, the add-on takes us to Venice – a 15th century Italian city state, which the creators recreated with all details - and allows the players to visit places like Piazza San Marco or Doge’s Palace. Due to the unique location of the metropolis, many places can only accessed with new means of transport - gondolas.
The Guild 2: Venice is a second expansion to Pirates of the European Seas. It has been developed by the creators of the base game from 4Head Studios and takes us to the titular city during the 15th century.
Due to the theme of the add-on, players can visit a hundred new islands and visit places like Piazza San Marco or Doge’s Palace, not to major libraries and museums. Some of those places are accessible only with new means of transportation – the gondolas.
As the original, The Guild 2: Venice is a mix cRPG and economy strategy game, in which players control a selected character trying to find himself in a world of the Renaissance. This proves quite a challenge, since it is necessary to manage financial matters and private affairs, including starting a family. The romantic and unique charm of Venice is enhanced by the fact that players can give their characters a personality of Casanova, famous for his love conquests.
Following the traditions of the series, The Guild 2: Venice adds a new campaign, along with tools to develop intrigues and sabotage. In their pursuance of possibly the most realistic recreation of the Italian city, developers focused on recreating the depth of water and a system of canals that meander throughout the city.
