Strikers Edge is a 2D arcade dodgeball game, in which players observe the action from the top-down perspective. One assumes the role of a chosen warrior and then tries to kill the opponent with arrows, spells, javelins, and daggers. Even though this game is mostly focused on the multiplayer mode (both local and online) it also features single-player campaigns revolving around each separate hero.

The PC and PS4 release of Strikers Edge is a dodgebrawl arcade game, in which players can see from the top-down perspective how their heroes wage duels using different historical and fantasy warriors. The game was developed by Fun Punch Games and published by Playdius in cooperation with Plug In Digital.

Mechanics

The rules of Strikers Edge for PC and PS4 are quite simple. One selects a hero from the list of several diversified warriors in of their weapons and fighting style (Eir – Valkyrie, Argalus – Spartan, Urgul – Barbarian, Lael – Archer, Galad – Knight, Bjerg – Viking, Tamsin – Spell Fencer, and Haru – Ninja) and then attempt to defeat the enemy (or enemies) in ranged combat. Each arena is designed in a way that does not allow players to reach their enemy – both fields are always separated e.g. by water or a chasm. What is left is to use ranged weapons.

The game features story campaigns focused on particular heroes; however, the most important aspect is the multiplayer mode, both local and online. Strikers Edge allows players to participate in 1v1 and 2v2 battles. The game is integrated with Twitch, allowing you to share fragments of your gameplay. There is also the ranking that shows your performance in comparison to other players.

Technical aspects

Strikers Edge for PC and PS4 is not bound to surprise players with its simple visuals. Nonetheless, the lively colors and solid animations are quite impressive.
