They Are Billions is a steampunk real-time strategy where we have to defend a human colony from hordes of zombies. It was developed by Numantian Games, creators of Lords of Xulmia: A Story of Gods and Humans. Our primary objective is to manage and upgrade our base. We will have to gather resources, build and upgrade buildings, create a power grid, and so on. Hordes of zombies are a constant threat that we will face. The game's engine allows the presence of up to 20 thousand zombies at a time. We have to build defensive structures like watch towers and walls and recruit and trained mercenaries in order to keep our survivors safe. We can pause the game at any time to give orders. They Are Billions offers a single player campaign with all kinds of missions and a survival mode where we end up on a procedurally generated map and have to survive for 100 days.

Dishonored features excellent audiovisuals with graphics powered by Unreal Engine 3.

A sequel to a best-selling FPP stealth game set in a universe that combines stylistics of the late Victorian era with steampunk elements. The title is a result of cooperation between Arkane Studios and the game’s publisher – Bethesda company. The sequel’s main heroine is Emily Kadwin, the daughter of the murdered empress, who s forces with the empress’ former bodyguard Corvo, the protagonist of the previous game. The girl tries to reclaim the lost crown and take revenge on all responsible for the death of her mother. Gameplay mechanics did not change much, so you still are offered much freedom in the way you reach the game’s objectives. Depending on your preferences, you may either use stealth approach or engage in open conflicts. The game can be completed as either of the two heroes, whereas each one has slightly different abilities and fighting style. Just like the previous game, Dishonored 2 contains only single player gameplay with no cooperation mode.

An adventure/strategy game with survival elements by Polish studio 11bit Studios. Frostpunk is set in a fictional icy-cold world, whose climate deeply affected the development of its society. To survive, people rely mostly on steam engines. However, it is not enough, and the society is falling apart, which means it needs to change. The gameplay focuses on the survival aspect, which, unlike in other such productions, means more than gathering and managing resources. Strategic elements are also of great importance, and you also need to make difficult and morally ambiguous decisions. The game features distinct visuals, in which the cold colors of nature are contrasted with the warmer hues, which symbolize the remains of civilization.

Dishonored: Death of the Outsider is an action game set in the Dishonored game universe. We play as a new protagonist, Billie Lurk. She is an assassin with supernatural powers and the right hand of Daud, one of the series' primary antagonists and the character we played as in two DLCs of the first Dishonored game. Our job is to hunt down the titular Outsider, a mysterious being that is the source of the supernatural powers used by the series' heroes. Story is nonlinear and its outcome is heavy reliant on our choices. Death of the Outsider takes us to the city of Karnaca known from Dishonored 2. We will visit many various locations during our adventures, like cultist hideouts or underground fight clubs. Gameplay mechanics did not change and are the same as in the previous games of the series. Once again we can play stealthy and be a silent assassin or attack our enemies in plain sight. As we progress, we unlock new abilities and pieces of equipment. After finishing the game, we can play it once again in the Original Game Plus mode where we have access to abilities from Dishonored 2.

In Arcanum: Of Steamworks and Magick Obscura we play the part of a simple mortal, who, after having managed to survive the disaster of the world's first airship, becomes widely recognized as a deity due to an ancient elven prophecy, bringing him a whole lot of adventures, troubles, and dangers. The game develops in a nonlinear way, offering, in addition to the main plot line, a whole bunch of extremely complex side quests. Just as in the aforementioned Fallout, the game has no rigid class system; hence, our character can specialize in magic, technology, or freely combine both elements.

During the following 12 missions the protagonist will explore various locations filled with many enemies – from ordinary humans, through guards and professional assassins, and up to blood-thirsty fantasy monsters. The game revolves around stealth and encourages you to fulfill your objectives silently while avoiding direct confrontation with enemies, as most of the time they lead to instant death. At the time of release, the game stood out thanks to its impressive three dimensional graphics filled with atmosphere of the dark, Medieval times and suggestive sound effects.

The second story expansion for Dishonored, a stealth action game created by Arkane. It continues the story of the first expansion - The Knife of Dunwall. Again, we play as the assassin of the empress, Daud, who departs for the lair of a witch by the name of Delilah in order to prevent her from carrying out a ritual that would allow for his final condemnation. To face the antagonist, and the coven she is the leader of, Daud has to explore the unknown districts of Dunwall and ally himself with the local gangs - Dead Eels and Hatters. The Brigmore Witches does not bring any significant changes to the gameplay, during which the player makes use of the powers brought in by the first expansion - Void Gaze, Blink, and Summon Assassin. The players can transfer their characters from the first expansion, keeping their previously acquired skills and weapons.

Once again, we play the part of a thief, Garrett, who is willing to undertake virtually any, daring or not, theft, just to make more money. Thanks to his activities, the protagonist has managed to amass not only sizable assets, but also many bitter enemies, representing three factions governing the city. Thus, in Thief 2: The Metal Age our main task will be to keep Garrett alive and explain the reasons for everyone's sudden increase in interest in his person. Concerning gameplay, the game basically does not differ from the first installment, although player gets a few new useful gadgets at his disposal, such as new types of arrows or an invisibility potion. Artificial intelligence algorithms and the range of potential reactions and behaviors of our opponents were significantly improved.

This time, Garrett's quest is to stop a long-prophesied advent of an era of darkness, which requires him to steal valuable treasures and artifacts from different parts of the city. But things take an unexpected turn when Garrett inadvertently awakens the ancient evil, and becomes considered a traitor by the of his guild. In of game mechanics, the title does not differ significantly from its predecessors, and every mission in the game can be completed in several different ways. The main difference is the new graphic engine and body awareness mechanism through which we have much more control over the hero's actions.

One of them is the main protagonist of the game, Rusty. While looking for remains of human civilization, he starts a journey deep into the ground, where he looks for interesting treasures. During the game the player is traveling through caves, avoiding traps, fighting enemies, collecting minerals and making sure to always have access to light. The protagonist can use various useful tools that enable him to decide in which direction should the tunnel be dug. After filling the backpack we return to the surface and trade the minerals we've found for various goods and upgrades for the protagonist.

A standalone version of a Doom 3 mod that transforms id Software’s game into something similar to the famous Thief series. It is a free production developed by an independent team at Broken Glass Studios. The Dark Mod 2.0 is set in a dark, Gothic fantasy world with steampunk elements. We assume the role of an elusive thief who sneaks into heavily guarded places and steals various valuables. The game does not feature any storyline — it is more of a sandbox that can be enriched with fan-created maps, missions, and campaigns. The world is observed from the first-person perspective and is traversed by moving from shadow to shadow to avoid guards’ attention. The protagonist is not much of a hand-to-hand fighter but has numerous accessories and gadgets at his disposal, including a bow with water or gas arrows. In version 2.0, improvements were made to artificial intelligence of non-player characters; many objects and sounds from the original Doom 3 were also replaced.

A steampunk action-adventure game with logic features. The title was developed by the independent studio Micropsia Games from Chile. The Watchmaker takes place inside a giant clock tower, and during the game the player assumes the role of a guard named Alexander. One day, a sabotage takes place in the tower, disrupting the flow of time and causing the protagonist to grow old extremely fast. In order to avoid death before his time, he must travel through subsequent sections of the tower to find and defeat the person responsible for the sabotage. He must also restore the proper flow of time. The game combines features of an adventure game, a 3D platform game and a logic game. The main focus was placed on solving various environmental riddles, but the game also contains typical action sequences and boss fights, during which the protagonist uses a variety of useful gadgets. The fact that the protagonist is getting older was used as a creative replacement for the classic health bar.

The battles take place in real time, with light (or rather, the lack of it) being an essential tactical element. During the game, we gather supplies and conduct diplomacy, while the success of each journey depends on such factors as the ship’s equipment or the composition of the crew, which includes various people with unique backstories and personalities. The plot creates many occasions to make difficult moral choices that shape the game world and influence our relations with subordinates and encountered factions.

You walk the streets of the eponymous city looking for useful items and at the same time trying to stop the hostile machines with electrical bombs. Steamburg features 3D visuals shown from an isometric view, and the soundtrack was produced by Silver Rocket.

A continuation of the popular Sunless Sea developed by Failbetter Games. This time around, the action of the game is set not in the depths of an underground ocean but in the mysterious cosmic space known as “The High Wilderness”, which Queen Victoria wanted to use as a foundation for the New British Empire. The main protagonist of this story is an outcast, who objects the rule of the iron fist imposed by the Queen. During the game, a player observes the action from the top-down perspective. Gameplay revolves around exploring new locations, gathering supplies, fighting encountered enemies, and maintaining more or less friendly relationships with diverse groupings inhabiting the vast space. Similarly to the previous installment, in Sunless Skies a player has to mind his decisions, as even a small mistake might lead to the mission’s end and the death of the main protagonist. Player’s actions affect the direction of the story. Additionally, all the visited locations are procedurally generated – this makes each playthrough different and filled with diverse challenges.

The title is characterized by considerable freedom of action and the possibility of achieving a goal in multiple ways. Regardless of whether we want to act from the shadows or engage in direct combat, the game will adjust the plot to our actions and choices. Compared to the original version, the production features enhanced graphics as well as all the DLCs that were released after the launch of the vanilla edition of the game, including two major expansions: The Knife of Dunwall and The Brigmore Witches.

A mobile adventure game by Indonesian studio Giant Leap. Detective Dixie: The Revenge of Wishteria is set in a fantasy steampunk world, the streets of which are populated by both humans and being from legends and fables. When a series of mysterious crimes plagues the eponymous city of Wishteria, young detective Dixie takes action. Although at first the cases seem not to be related to each other, the protagonist soon gathers clues hinting that all the crimes were committed by the same person. During the game, you explore the city, talk to NPCs, collect items and solve puzzles, as well as play logic minigames. There are also interrogation sequences, during which you have to use the previously gathered knowledge to figure out when the suspect is lying and to uncover the truth. Next, you have to convince the police to arrest the culprit. The game features attractive cartoonish 2D graphics.

A mobile strategy-action game by Foursaken Media. Noblemen: 1896 is set in an alternative version of the late 19th century, combining steampunk themes with elements based on World War I and the American Civil War. The game does not feature a typical story campaign; you lead one of the factions during a great conflict. In of mechanics, there are two aspects of the gameplay. The first aspect is a strategic one, in which you train your armies, move them around the map, manage your resources, and conquer more areas. The mode is additionally varied by collecting and using special cards. When two armies meet, the game switches into battle mode, combining the elements of shooter games and RTS, and you control one of the soldiers, using a wide range of firearms.

A DLC for a well-received production by Failbetter Games that combines elements of strategy, adventure, and roguelike RPG. Sunless Sea: Zubmariner is focused on an entirely new story that takes place in the steampunk universe known from the vanilla game but introduces some changes in the gameplay mechanics. The players’ task is once again to explore the seas, only this time they descend into the depths, assuming control of a steam submarine. The player visits ports located not only on the surface but also beneath it, which is reflected in different behavior of their residents, among other things. Exploration remains at the core of the game. We encounter a myriad of underwater objects and sea monsters that often pose a serious threat to our watercraft. While playing, it is necessary to take care of our relations with the crew and to control the level of oxygen on board as well as to monitor the sonar that indicates both potential enemies and new places of interest.

A steampunk-influenced 2D arcade game by iFun4All, a subsidiary of the Polish Bloober Team. The action of Red Game Without a Great Name takes place in a future in which outdated communication methods, such as traditional mail, are still in use. Considering the trouble ordinary messengers would have to go through to reach certain places, some parcels are delivered by dedicted mechanical birds. The players assume the role of one of them, and their task is to traverse various, rather hostile, locations with the goal of safely delivering parcels and collecting gears that are scattered around the levels. The bird we control is not entirely defenseless, though, and has the ability to teleport and to use various power-ups, allowing him to come out alive from dire situations and deal with encountered obstacles in numerous ways.
