Space shooter prepared for sets of virtual reality. In Stardust Odyssey we sit at the helm of a spaceship and take part in missions to protect convoys from enemy attacks. The title stands out due to its original style inspired by the history of the Silk Road or even the works of the artist known as Moebius.
Stardust Odyssey is a space shooter created for VR sets, developed by the independent French team at Agharta Studio.
Stardust Odyssey takes us on a journey to an original universe inspired by the works of French artists such as Jean Giraud (known as Moebius) and Jean-Claude Mezieres. What's more, among the sources of inspiration for their work, the developers mention oriental cultures and the history of the Silk Road. Although interstellar travel is an everyday occurrence in this universe, science and technology give way to magic and fantasy. The main protagonist of the game is a pilot of a space vehicle known as an Ethercraft. The protagonist must find nine relics and, with their help, restore the balance in the universe, which is threatened by evil from the Abyss.
In Stardust Odyssey, the action is shown from first-person perspective. The game consists of fourteen diversified missions, which take place over vast deserts or in the clouds. Sitting at the controls of our ship, we must protect convoys (and ourselves) from enemy attacks, led by powerful Guardians acting as bosses. As we progress, we make various improvements to our ship, so that over time we can face ever-increasing challenges. In addition, there are calmer moments in the game, enabling us to take a break from the fast-paced action in a cozy tent and exchange a few words with NPCs.
Stardust Odyssey can be played solo or in cooperation mode over the Internet.
The visuals of Stardust Odyssey present a high level of execution. Its unique graphic style may be particularly appealing; spacecraft look like floating boats made of wood, stone, leather and gold and are accompanied by huge, sea-inspired animals that help transport cargo.
Game Ratings for Stardust Odyssey Video Game.
PlayStation Universe: 8 / 10 by Eric Hauter
Stardust Odyssey is a game of true beauty, transporting the player to a fantastical world as hauntingly familiar as a recurring dream. While the Stealth gameplay can become frustrating due to escalating difficulty and some checkpoint issues, Stardust is still a game that every PSVR fan should experience for its world-building alone. A true step forward in VR gaming.
Gamerweb.pl: 7 / 10 by Konrad Noga
An ambitious game letting the players to experience the life of a space pirate and steal some goodies from trading convoys. It is full of fast-paced and chaotic combat which ultimately feels rewarding, if a bit too grindy sometimes.
Screen Rant: 2.5 / 5 by Cody Peterson
Stardust Odyssey is beautiful VR game on the surface that sadly becomes very repetitive and features combat that is confusing and complicated.
