A colorful arcade game realized in the convention of a shooter with a view from the third person perspective. The game is conducted in two teams of four, whose task is to eliminate the opponents and paint with their color the largest possible area of the map on which the match takes place.
Splatoon is a third-person arcade game released exclusively for Nintendo Wii U. The gameplay involves competition between two four-member teams whose task is to take control over the map by painting its surface with a color of their choice. In order to do so, the teams not only have to paint the map with paint rollers and paintball guns, but also effectively protect the regions already controlled, as well as repel the invading enemies. The key points on every map are paint containers. Once taken over, they offer a great advantage to their owners, such as various enhancements and gadgets.
The game makes use of WiiU GamePad controller. By using it, we may scout the map and point our enemy’s position to our allies, as well as make aiming easier or take a quick look around our character thanks to the gyroscope.
The game’s graphics are colorful and cartoonish. The screen is full of bright colors and quick-paced action. Since it is a multiplayer-only game, it requires Internet connection.

Splatoon is a series of colorful shooters in which we view the action from a third-person perspective (TPP). During the gameplay we wield weapons spraying the terrain and opponents with paint of our team's color; in this way we eliminate opponents and gain valuable territory. The essence of the series is team-based online skirmishes, but individual titles also have single-player story modes.
Game Ratings for Splatoon Video Game.
Metro GameCentral: 9 / 10 by David Jenkins
The most original and enjoyable online shooter of the generation, and now with enough content to make the most of its superlative action.
Destructoid: 8.5 / 10 by Chris Carter
In some ways, Splatoon's online component is disappointing, and the lack of so many features will likely push other shooter fans away. But most of those shortcomings can be forgiven in my mind because of how damn fun it is. As a shooter it's refreshing, and as a 3D platformer it's up there with some of Nintendo's greatest creations. You'll quickly forget about the fact that you're playing Turf War over and over as you squid down an alley, leap across a gap, and shoot enemies in the air as you fall. All Nintendo needs to do is keep ing Splatoon, because the foundation is fantastic.

Playing as squid kids that use water guns to make a giant mess is lots of fun.
