A mobile free-to-play strategy game. It is a spin-off of the cult series of economic simulators developed by EA Maxis. Similarly to the full-fledged entries in the series, the player assumes the role of a mayor of a virtual city. Their task is to secure the expansion of the metropolis and the happiness of its inhabitants while also maintaining the budget.
SimCity BuildIt is a mobile spin-off of the popular series of economic strategy games developed by Maxis. This game was developed for AND and iOS and other mobile devices. It was created by one of the first-party studios of Electronic Arts and it utilizes the free-to-play distribution model with microtransactions.
Similarly to the main entries in the series, SimCity BuildIt for AND and iOS enables the player to assume the role of a mayor of a small city. His task is to transform this city into an actual metropolis. The game starts on a small piece of land. In order to achieve his goals, the player must raise new structures like residential houses, commercial buildings and factories. He must also maintain access to energy and water for the buildings and create an effective city transport by expanding the network of roads. Parks and amusement buildings are an important part of the city as well – they increase the happiness of inhabitants. This increases the tax income, which is the main source of the profits in the game.
Resources are required for constructing buildings. They can be obtained from contracts created in factories and commercial buildings. The player must constantly balance expenses and incomes as unbalanced management can lead to bankruptcy. Player’s actions are constantly graded by the citizens – the happier they are, the more eager they are to pay greater taxes.
SimCity BuildIt for AND and iOS features attractive, three-dimensional graphics that enable the player to see each corner of the virtual city. The gameplay was designed to convince the player to visit his city as frequently as possible. Each building and contract can be completed after a specific amount of time. However, inpatient players can shorter the wait time by using currency, bought for real money.
