Rogue Stormers, initially known as DieselStörmers or Ravensdale, is an action game that includes elements of a shooter and a platformer. It was developed by Black Forest Games. The story is set in a dieselpunk universe that combines fantasy elements with combustion engines, where a conflict of human knights and orcs takes place.
Rogue Stormers for PS4, X360 and etc. is an action game that combines platformer and shooter elements. The game was developed by Black Forest Games, a German studio known for a well-received Giana Sisters: Twisted Dreams. The studio includes former of Spellbound Entertainment (Arcania: Gothic 4, Robin Hood: The Legend of Sherwood, Desperados series). The project was originally meant to be an action-RPG set in a steampunk world, but the concept has changed, turning the game into a run & gun platformer.
The story is set in the city of Ravensdale, where classic fantasy elements are accompanied by modern technology based on internal combustion engines, creating a mixture of what is commonly known as dieselpunk. In the game, the player learns about the metropolis and tries to prevent its destruction. Apart form that, the player completes a wide set of side missions. The story is centered around the conflict between human knights and orcs. The campaign can be finished in a singleplayer mode, although a cooperation of four players in total brings an interesting alternative.
The gameplay in Rogue Stormers for PS4, X360 and etc. resembles a two-dimensional platformer with an emphasis put mainly on combat. When fighting, the player uses mainly firearms, which can be created and modified. To do that, the player has free access to different components. In so doing, the player can alter the firepower of their weapons, as well as the way they work - we can make our bullets rebound impressively or modify it in such a way that the ammunition sets enemies on fire, for example. However, many of our enemies are capable of modifying their own equipment as well; this forces the player to switch between various tactics frequently.
A key element of the game is the so-called Arc Connector, which is made of an indestructible, hanging generator which powers the armors of the players. This delivers them with different advantages, such as being able to absorb bullets in order to transform them into a ranged strike that stuns the enemies. The effectiveness of our weapons can be increased thanks to the generator as well. It also plays an important part when it comes to cooperation between the players - one can improve the attack power of another.
The structure of each mission is more interesting than a typical "go there and kill everyone" request. Instead, the player receives specific tasks that require them to sabotage something, free a prisoner, or eliminate a certain target. Moreover, success or failure dynamically affect the situation in the city, as well as the subsequent missions.
Rogue Stormers for PS4, X360 and etc. has two-dimensional graphics with backgrounds that contribute to the creation of an appropriate atmosphere of fantasy and steampunk. There are three-dimensional character models presented in a cartoon-like style, which perfectly fits into the concept of the game.

Game Ratings for Rogue Stormers Video Game.
Hardcore Gamer: 3 / 5 by Jason Bohn
The most frustrating thing about Rogue Stormers is that it is a few major flaws from being the perfect game.
PS4Blog.net: 8 / 10
Rogue Stormers is beautiful to look at, and its fast-paced music really fits the game’s energetic presentation. The permanent upgrades are a nice change from how the usual permadeath mechanics quick in for roguelike releases. The more you play, the better you’ll get at defeating everything the game throws at you. I definitely liked my time with the game for my Rogue Stormers review, and hopefully you wil as well!
Real Game Media: 6.8 / 10
Rogue Stormers is a fun 2D shooter that combines nostalgia well with modern day gaming mechanics. The randomness of the levels and perks keeps each playthrough relatively fresh and makes a great game to come back to every so often to have a bit of fun with. Despite some slightly grating sound effects and a few technical hitches with multiplayer and enemies hiding in the environment aside, it is well worth a play.
