Developed by Trion Worlds studio, the second paid expansion for the MMORPG RIFT. The story kicks off when the Comet of Ahnket shows up over Telara. It turns out that the comet is an Ascended Tenebrean construct that poses a new threat to the world, so Guardians and Defiants have no other choice than to forces against the looming danger. RIFT: Starfall Prophecy includes five new zones, two dungeons, and a brand new raid.

RIFT: Starfall Prophecy’s story begins when the Comet of Ahnket shows up over Telara. The comet turns out to be an Ascended Tenebrean construct which poses a new threat to the world. Therefore, Guardians and Defiants have to unite in order to fight the danger coming on the surface of the Ahnket.

Mechanics

RIFT: Starfall Prophecy, also known as RIFT 4.0, introduces a number of changes, mechanics improvements, and loads of new content. Primarily, the world is larger – Starfall Prophecy features five new locations (including one released after the DLC premiere), two new dungeons, and a completely new raid which introduces mechanics that simplify ing other raids.

There is also a new game mode called Fortress Siege. Taking place in an open-world, battles of yet-unseen scale range from group fights to raids themselves. The system of loot drawing is also improved. Special mechanics called Personal Loot make sure that items dropped match the class you are currently playing. Additionally, your armoury can be improved with special rewards earned by taking part in different challenges. Finally, ancient artefacts with unique properties – vital in slaying stronger enemies – are waiting for you.

RIFT: Starfall Prophecy on PC introduces new options of customising your character, among them Legendary Abilities and new equipment elements. Also, level cap was increased – now the player’s character can reach level 70.

Technical aspects

RIFT: Starfall Prophecy put out on PC is the second paid extension to the warmly-received MMORPG RIFT. In 2013 the production switched to the free-to-play model and the premiere of this add-on did not change it – the base title is still free.
