Popucom is a combination of a 3D platformer and a logic game, designed exclusively for cooperative mode. The game was developed by Hypergryph - a Chinese development studio, which has Arknights: Endfield in its portfolio.

Gameplay

In Popucom we watch the action from a third-person perspective (TPP). During the game, we take on the roles of characters who land on an unknown planet and must explore its mysteries and face various dangers. All of this is done in order to restore the former glory to this world.

Colorful challenges

The pillar of the gameplay is solving puzzles based on colors. Our protagonists can change their colors, and also have cannons that shoot colorful Pomu gel. They use their gear to manipulate elements of the environment (primarily switches), as well as to overcome barriers in their path (which only allow objects of compatible colors to through). There are also typical skill-based challenges here, involving jumping on platforms and avoiding traps.

Over time, the difficulty level of the problems waiting to be solved increases, but at the same time, the protagonists gain access to more useful items. We're talking about so-called super artifacts, like Rollo the Bomb, Captain Kitty, Barrier Bot or Power Kid, each of which provides a unique ability to deal with encountered terrain obstacles or even to get rid of opponents.

However, the skills and equipment of our characters will be of no use if they do not cooperate closely with each other. Individual puzzles and challenges were prepared in such a way as to enforce cooperation on them.

Bonus features

During breaks from the colorful journey, we can spend some time in various mini-games inspired by iconic titles from the 8-bit era. Additionally, the game allows us to modify the appearance of the character and adjust it to individual preferences.

Co-op

Popucom only allows for cooperative gameplay. We can play with the second player online or on a split screen.

Graphics

The graphic design of Popucom is maintained in colorful, cartoonish graphics reminiscent of the Splatoon series.
