Mechanics

Phantom Breaker: Battle Grounds Ultimate is a sidescroller. Most of the game consists of combat, featuring multiple playable character with differing playstyles and abilities. The player can use light, medium and heavy attacks, needing to stay mobile, avoid enemy blows and counter-attack. Knocking out a certain number of enemies also unlocks a special ability, which can turn the tide of battle when used. As we progress through the game, we upgrade our characters, facing greater challenges over time.

Compared to the original game, the combat's been improved and made smoother. The enemies are also playable now, having different playstyles and unique abilities.

Technical aspects

Phantom Breaker: Battle Grounds Ultimate runs on the Unreal Engine 5. The game features colorful, manga-like visuals. The soundtrack was remastered as well, while the intro theme was completely replaced.
