Paradise Killer is a multi ending adventure game in which we try to unravel the mystery of murder on an island that is separated from reality. Solving the case will involve questioning witnesses, gathering evidence and combining circumstantial evidence.
Paradise Killer is a detective adventure game with an open world. The game is the responsibility of Kaizen Game Works, and its release is the Fellow Traveller, publisher of In Other Waters, The Stilness of the Wind and Genesis Noir, among others.
The action of the game is set on the island of Paradise, somewhere on the borderline of reality, which regenerates every few millennia. Its inhabitants are alien followers, possessing unique parapsychological powers that may one day resurrect their fallen deities. There are consequences: these powers attract the attention of demons, and any such incident poisons the island until it is regenerated by a special council, and the cycle will not be repeated. The problem is that on the day when the island is to regenerate again, of the Council holding everything in check are murdered. Lady Love Dies is summoned to find the perpetrator. This is how the adventure begins, in which our heroine conducts an investigation, traveling through surrealistic locations in search of circumstantial evidence, but also people whose testimonies will help to catch the guilty person. There are a few suspects, so depending on what decisions we make and what conclusions we reach, we will see other finale.
Paradise Killer is a game that combines adventure and RPG elements, in which we travel through an open world seen from the first person perspective. Discovering various locations will bring us closer to the history of the world, but also unlock hidden locations by solving puzzles. Above all, however, we have to look for evidence; to do this, we go to the crime scene, because there is a good chance that we will find something that will allow us to narrow down the not-so-small group of potential perpetrators. Among them we will find charismatic personalities, and each of them has a sensible motive for committing a crime, which we find out about while collecting their testimony (we have an influence on how the conversation will go).
In this difficult situation, we need a personal computer and Starlight, an electronic assistant to help us sort out evidence, circumstantial evidence and testimony in order to prepare a good prosecution line. The problem is that the extent to which we gather evidence may lead us to a different conclusion, and thus to a different defendant. So the question is, can we find the real guilty man and save Paradise Island?
Paradise Killer is a game combining the atmosphere of a paradise island with a vision of the distant future shown in cartoon style, using both 3D and 2D graphics (in dialogues).

It’s up to you to decide what is right, but the game is a let down in execution. The experience is a long way from video game paradise, but it has its heart in the right place.

Paradise Killer is a strange experience. Even having completed it, I have difficulty putting into words what it was like to play it. It's sometimes boring, often intriguing, frequently funny, and startlingly deep. I didn't go into this expecting such an amazing detective experience, but that's exactly what I got. It's rare to see a game so adeptly balance style and substance, and even though it's not a flawless experience, it has it where it counts. We may have just fallen short of Paradise this time around, but the next cycle could be perfect.
