Mechanics

In Outlanders, the action is observed from a top-down view. The gameplay revolves around gathering resources and expanding your settlement. Unlike in many other strategy games, the player doesn't control the settlers directly. Instead, you can only determine the number of vacancies in each location, the villagers deciding where they wish to work on their own. The same applies to houses - the settlers also choose them on their own. Nevertheless, their behavior can be influenced by prioritizing certain tasks or issuing decrees, letting you, for example, extend the workday or reduce resource consumption. Decrees should be used with caution, as bending the rules too much will affect the villagers' happiness.

Game modes

Outlanders features a story campaign, with new buildings and mechanics being introduced over the course of successive missions. During the campaign we follow the tales of successive leaders, which over time begin intertwining with each other, often leading to humorous situations. The game also contains a sandbox mode, letting you build your town freely without any limitations.

Technical aspects

Visually, Outlanders is simple, though colorful, clear and with a pleasant cartoonish style. During the game, the player is accompanied by a peaceful, tranquil soundtrack.
