Baelin is the main protagonist and he suddenly becomes the savior after local heroes have mysteriously vanished.
Nice Day for Fishing is an RPG which doesn't take itself too seriously. It was developed by FusionPlay studio, ed by Team17 as the publisher. The game was given a humorous tone with the help of comedians from the Viva La Dirt League group, who lent it characters created for the Epic NPC Man series.
In Nice Day for Fishing we watch the action from the side.
We explore the land of Azerim, specifically the vicinity of the Honeywood village, from which the main character originates. The protagonist named Baelin explores the nooks and crannies of the world - both the surface and underwater depths. The main character tries to do what he does best, which is... fishing. This activity, which we associate with relaxation, has been presented here in the form of intense skirmishes.
Apart from regular enemies, much more powerful bosses stand in our way. We can ensure our wins by using the appropriate bait, launching precise attacks, and making use of the best possible fishing equipment, led by rods and lines. Replacing our gear with better things or upgrading them allows us to face increasingly greater challenges.
As we progress, we not only get to know the Honeywood area and its residents better, for whom we carry out quests, but we also develop Baelin. In addition to increasingly better rods and lines, the protagonist acquires a magnetic hook, which allows him to fish out treasures hidden in wrecks resting on the bottom, as well as a drill that allows him to dig tunnels and create additional ages.
Our progress is also reflected in the changing appearance of Honeywood, which we are gradually rebuilding, gaining access to new missions and equipment elements. The icing on the cake is the possibility of making offerings to the fishing deity, in exchange for blessings, and consequently - improving skills.
The main character of Nice Day for Fishing is a fisherman named Baelin. The protagonist so far had only been an independent character. Unfortunately local heroes began to disappear under mysterious circumstances. Now it is his job to defend the village of Honeywood.
The two-dimensional graphics in Nice Day for Fishing were created using pixel art technique.

Game Ratings for Nice Day for Fishing Video Game.
The Outerhaven Productions: 4 / 5 by Sean Garmer
Nice Day For Fishing is an enjoyable game that's best played in short spurts. The battles keep you on your toes with a consistent challenge throughout. There's always deeper areas to explore and plenty of resource gathering available. However, it does tend to drag out with the repetitive tasks. But aside from that minor quibble, anyone that's been looking for a Fishing RPG can't go wrong here, especially if you are a major fan of Epic NPC Man.
Nindie Spotlight: 9 / 10 by Justin Nation
While it took almost the entire Switch generation to arrive, I’m happy there’s finally a decent fishing game on the console… and an RPG at that!
Screen Hype: 9 / 10 by Lyssa Chatterton
Nice Day for Fishing could’ve been a quick gag game. It could have been made for fans of Viva La Dirt League to laugh at. But it’s far more than that. This is a full experience—thoughtful, weirdly wholesome, and genuinely fun to sink time into. It reminded me so much of the first time I played Runescape. I used to bike to the library with my older brother to play on the computers there… That warm, nostalgic feeling came rushing back as I explored. The fishing battles, the spells, the treasure hunting—all of it made me feel like a kid again.
