A traditional Japanese RPG game from the dungeon-crawler sub-genre with action in Tokyo's disaster-stricken action. Players play the role of a member of an elite unit with special skills of people whose task is to eliminate the monsters lurking in the streets of the metropolis.
Meikyuuu Cross Blood is a dungeon-crawler RPG. The game was developed by Experience studio dealing with mobile and console games. The team participated in the development of Demon Gaze, a dungeon-crawler, which debuted on PS Vita in 2013.
The story presented in Meikyuu Cross Blood takes place in Tokyo, in the near future. The city was shrouded in darkness, and dangerous creatures threatening the safety of its inhabitants appeared on the streets. The player takes on the role of a member of an elite and secret squad called X. It consists of young people with supernatural abilities. Their task is to eliminate monsters lurking in the alleys of the metropolis. Starting the game, we create our character, choosing its appearance, gender, blood group, and so on. The storyline is presented in a form known from visual novels - we usually see immovable 2D boards with illustrations showing the scene and dialogues read in the background.
The gameplay model does not differ significantly from other dungeon-crawlers. During the exploration of labyrinths and locations, which are most often interiors of various buildings (e.g. schools), we observe the action from the first-person perspective. We can't move freely, only from field to field into which all corridors are divided. We fight enemies using a turn-based combat system. Characters use a variety of attacks, depending on their class. Unlike other games, the way classes function is not realized in a standard way. Instead of a specific role of e.g. a warrior, we choose one of several historical figures, whose blood circulates in the hero's veins. The party can consist of up to six people.
The graphics aren't very impressive, so in some places, the production resembles games from the first PlayStation. Textures are blurred and of poor quality, and animations are extremely simple and uninteresting.
