Mechanics

Mars Tactics begins with choosing our faction - capitalists or workers. Both groups significantly differ from each other. Corporate troops have easy access to resources and manpower but depend on supplies from Earth. The rebels meanwhile rely on scavenging, but they produce arms themselves, keeping them independent.

Crucial decisions are made on the game's strategic map. We'll intercept enemy deliveries, establish supply chains, fund engineers and scientists. We must also correctly position our troops to allow for aerial and artillery . We'll also interrogate prisoners and initiate rescue missions.

Battles are turn-based and set on procedurally generated battlefields. Our troops can exchange supplies, take over abandoned enemy vehicles and call for artillery fire. Mars Tactics features destructible environment, letting us destroy enemy cover or create cover for ourselves.

Each battle grants our soldiers experience, and eventually promotions. Squates can also receive special traits for demonstrating exceptional skill. Defeating several units in a single action increases combat effectiveness, while treating injured soldiers improves medical skill. New weapons and cybernetic enhancements prove useful as well.
