Mario vs. Donkey Kong is a side-scroller. The game's stages are full of traps and obstacles,requiring agility and reflexes, jumping on platforms, using trampolines and avoiding danger. Mario's moveset is rather expansive, including hand-walking and swinging on bars.
There's also plenty of brainteasing in every stage. In order to collect all Mini-Mario toys in each level, we must solve puzzles, manipulating switches and conveyor belts to access secrets.
Each world concludes with a battle against Donkey Kong, who stands in the way to the next world. The game features various mini-games to provide more variety.
