An arcade game in which we can test our skills in a crazy soccer variation. In Mario Strikers: Battle League all tricks are allowed (including fouls), and up to eight players (four in each team) fight on the field at the same time.
Mario Strikers: Battle League is an arcade game that allows players to test themselves in a crazy variation of soccer. It was developed by Nintendo.
In Mario Strikers: Battle League, we observe the action from a top-down view. Although Strikers, as this is the name of the sport the described production is dedicated to, is based on similar principles to soccer, those two competitions are quite different from each other.
While eight players (four on each team) fight on the pitch for control of the ball, the goalkeepers do everything to prevent their opponents from scoring. All tricks of the trade are allowed and spectacular fouls are encouraged in order to gain an advantage over your rivals. The game also features Hyper Strike mechanics, i.e. a kind of super shots, activated after acquiring a power-up and charging a special bar. After such a shot we can observe how the ball, boosted with additional effects (like a tornado), wreaks havoc in the ranks of the opponents. Moreover, in this case, hitting the opponents' goal ends up with scoring two points.
There are a number of characters from Super Mario games at our disposal, such as Peach, Toad, Yoshi and Mario himself. Each of them is described by stats (including strength, speed and shooting accuracy), which we can modify with the help of equipment worn on the head, arms, torso and legs. As we progress, we buy better and better equipment, thanks to which our players have an increasing advantage over their rivals.
Up to eight players can play in Mario Strikers: Battle League (over the Internet or at a single console). In addition, in online mode, players can clubs and fight with other teams for dominance on the playing fields.
Graphics in Mario Strikers: Battle League is in a colorful, cartoonish style, familiar from other Mario sports games.
