A tactical RPG with roguelike elements, developed by Shiny Shoe - authors of the warmly welcomed Monster Train. In Inkbound we find ourselves in a world where every story ever written comes to life and we face a dark force that threatens it.
Inkbound is a roguelike with tactical RPG elements. It was developed by indie American studio Shiny Shoe, known for warmly welcomed and genre-related game Monster Train.
Inkbound takes us on a journey to Atheneum - a fantastical land where all the stories that have ever been written come to life. The peaceful life of its inhabitants came to an end when an unknown, dark force began to destroy the stories one by one, and their worlds with them. We play as a hero who decides to face the threat and restore the old order in Atheneum.
In Inkbound we observe the action from an isometric view. As you explore the picturesque and diverse world, which ranges from eye-catching outdoor environments to grim dungeons, your primary task is to eliminate hordes of enemies. Skirmishes take place in turn-based mode and although on our way we usually have to deal with regular units, which shouldn't pose much of a problem, from time to time we have to face much more powerful enemies. On the battlefield we have to show a tactical sense and skillfully use the abilities of the character we control and his allies.
As we progress, we develop the protagonist, learning new and more powerful "skills" and useful (or just good-looking) items and accessories such as bat wings. In the fervor of the adventure it's worth ing that the game world and the attractions waiting for us are procedurally generated and change after each start.
Inkbound lets you play solo, but it spreads its wings in co-op mode.
Graphics in Inkbound is made in a colorful, cartoon style, which brings to mind the Torchlight series.
