Release Date: April 25, 2017
Hybrid FPS and roguelike, in which we play the title peasant. In unexplained circumstances, the protagonist ends up in ancient Egypt - as a living mummy he goes deep into the pyramids, where he hopes to find answers to the questions that bother him. This, of course, means having to face up to the enemy's taboons.
Immortal Redneck is a hybrid game, combining elements of classic FPS with roguelike mechanics. The title was developed by the independent studio Crema.
The main protagonist of Immortal Redneck is the title redneck who suffered an accident. After awakening, the protagonist discovers that he was transferred to the ancient Egypt, and what's more, he was transformed into a mummy. In search of answers, he sets off on a journey through the nooks and crannies of the Giza pyramids, swarming with traps and secrets guarded by hordes of monsters.
When playing Immortal Redneck the action is observed from the first-person perspective. The game is extremely dynamic, as in classic shooters of the turn of the century, and its essence is the exploration of vast locations and combat.
We are faced with smaller opponents in bulk numbers (e.g. mummies, sarcophagi and flying skulls), as well as their much more powerful brothers acting as bosses (in each of the pyramids two of them are waiting to be defeated). Luckily, our redneck is not helpless, wielding more than fifty different weapons: traditional guns, rifles as well as less conventional tools of murder, that is futuristic cannons, magic missiles or a potato launcher. In addition, in the course of the adventure, we make use of over a hundred scrolls modifying the course of the game - both facilitating and significantly hindering the game. All of this is complemented by extensive RPG elements - the hero can worship one of nine Egyptian deities, equivalent to character classes; by offering gold to the chosen god, he gains the ability to unlock new skill and armor or upgrade existing ones.
Due to the fact that the interior of the pyramids is generated procedurally, and the developers decided to implement permadeath mechanics (although after death we keep the equipment and supplies purchased from the merchant, and we are reborn a bit more powerful than before), the game is characterized by high replayability.
Three-dimensional visuals of Immortal Redneck present a decent level of quality; the whole thing adopts characteristic, slightly cartoonish and humorous style evoking associations with the visuals of Serious Sam. The title has been integrated into Twitch - Streamers can play together with their viewers as part of the special Twitch Challenge mode.

Game Ratings for Immortal Redneck Video Game.
PlayStation Universe: 6.5 / 10 by Neil Bolt
Immortal Redneck works best as an occasional snack, or a palette cleanser, between heavier gaming meals. Playing for any length of time shows up its shortcomings, but in bite-sized pieces it's a good time. The game's humour is rank and dull, but it luckily doesn't detract from the rather pleasing colourful action the game provides.
TrueAchievements: 4 / 5 by Kelly Packard
Immortal Redneck's melting pot of genres is a success. Regardless of whether you came for the shooting or the roguelite aspects, you'll be pleased with the handling of the two genres.
Nintendo Enthusiast: 7.5 / 10 by Aric Sweeny
