Fast Striker is a classic two-dimensional shoot'em up game, which was born as a fan project for Neo Geo and Dreamcast consoles. The production offers several gameplay modes, six levels, a comprehensive point system, as well as forty unique enemy types.
Fast Striker is a two-dimensional shoot-em'-up, in which we control a spacecraft fighting dozens of extremely dangerous aliens. The developer of this game is German studio NG:DEV.TEAM founded in 2001. The team specialized in homebrew productions for Neo Geo and Dreamcast retroconsoles. Fast Striker is the first work of the developer to be officially released on current-generation platforms.
This is a classic vertical shoot'em up. Like countless titles in the genre, players slowly travel through the linear level, fighting waves of enemies. The game offers a total of six different stages. Each of them ends with a duel with a large and powerful boss. In the course of the game, we fight a total of forty unique types of opponents.
The creators prepared a total of four difficulty levels, affecting the power and the number of opponents appearing on the screen. Going through the whole game using only one credit, you will get access to the bonus mini level, in which you will face the optional boss. After defeating it, we will unlock the true end of the title.
Fast Striker offers several gameplay modes. Each of them offers a slightly different point system or allows us to steer a different spacecraft with different combat capabilities and special attacks.
Fast Striker has full details and richly animated two-dimensional graphic design. The title operates at a constant speed of 60 frames per second.

Game Ratings for Fast Striker Video Game.
GameSpew: 5 / 10 by Kyle Bradford
As someone who hase fallen so deeply in love with the genre, whose itch for a new brilliant shmup has been left unscratched for years, I can't help but feel disappointed – especially because of how promising NG:DEV.TEAM seem to be.
PlayStation Universe: 6 / 10 by Timothy Nunes
Fast Striker pays homage to the original game, but it offers very little in regards to modernization. Fast Striker has some simple, intriguing elements to it, but it lacks the polish of other games in the genre.

Fast Striker then is a competent score focused shooter that’s short but satisfying. It’s missing some modern day features like online leader boards but it’s a visual treat for the eye balls that’s accessible for newcomers on the Novice difficulty and a real test for shmup veterans on Manic or Omake. If you already have the 1.5 edition on the Dreamcast, the only new additions here are screen sizing and button mapping so it’s probably not worth the double dip but if this is the first you’re hearing about Fast Striker and you fancy a coin-op inspired shoot ‘em up to tide you over, Fast Striker could fit the bill.
