Far Cry 6 Expansion Pack
FC6 - Vaas: Insanity
Release Date: November 16, 2021
Vaas: Insanity is the first big DLC for Far Cry 6. The expansion allows you to play as the villain from the third part of the series and the gameplay has been enriched with roguelite elements.
Far Cry 6 Vaas: Insanity is the first big expansion pack for Ubisoft's popular 2021 first-person action game. Both the basic version of the production and the expansion were developed by Ubisoft Monreal studio.
In the DLC, the player takes on the role of Vaas Montenegro, a psychopathic villain known from Far Cry 3. In the add-on, he goes on a journey inside his tormented mind, trying to overcome his own demons and break the cycle pushing him deeper and deeper into the depths of madness.
The expansion keeps the basic game mechanics from Far Cry 6 but enriches them with elements of the roguelite genre. In DLC we get new open world, filled with enemies to eliminate, items to collect and bases to recapture. We unlock new skills and gain better weapons and equipment.
At the same time, many elements of the game are set randomly. Far Cry 6 Vaas: Insanity was designed in such a way that the game can be played many times, each time facing new challenges. At the beginning of each adventure the player chooses between five difficulty levels. The higher he chooses, the more powerful enemies he will encounter, but killing them will earn him better items as a reward.
Completing quests unlocks new items, and part of the progress (e.g. weapons obtained and their storage upgrades) is saved between each session, which allows us to take on increasingly difficult challenges. On the other hand, the death of the character causes the loss of equipment, but only that which he had on him, not the items left in the lockers.
The add-on offers the possibility to play solo or in co-op with another player.
Vaas: Insanity is not a standalone expansion pack, so you need the base version of Far Cry 6 to enjoy the game.

Far Cry is a series of first-person shooters (FPS) with a sandbox gameplay model. The leading theme of the series is spectacular shootouts using modern firearms, but the developers are not afraid to experiment and from time to time serve players a trip to completely different realities, such as distant prehistory (where rifles and flamethrowers are replaced by bows and machetes) or an alternative world in the climate of cyberpunk (where cyborg soldiers fight using laser weapons). The series allows us to drive vehicles, including jeeps or boats with machine guns, and sometimes to ride animals (such as elephants). Starting with the third installment, RPG-like elements, such as crafting and character skill development, began to enter the series. Later installments were also equipped with level editors.
An expansion pack for Far Cry 6 featuring the series' fan-favorite villain was shown off in pre-release gameplay.

Game Ratings for Far Cry 6 - Vaas: Insanity Video Game.
ACG: by Jeremy Penter
Destructoid: 8 / 10 by Jordan Devore
I’m not sure I’ll go back to beat it on all five Mind Level difficulty tiers (twice is enough for now), especially with more DLC packs on the way. But I am pleasantly surprised by how much I enjoyed Vaas: Insanity, and I hope I feel the same about Far Cry 6‘s next two villain stories. I’d give it a nod even if you don’t always mesh well with roguelites. Because it doesn’t outstay its welcome, the format works well for Far Cry. A lack of true variety hurts the long-term appeal after the first successful run, but that first win is exciting.
Screen Rant: 3 / 5 by Alex Santa Maria
At the very least, Vaas: Insanity succeeds more than Far Cry 6 proper at moving the franchise forward. By the same token, sanding off the hard edges of a character conceived in a much different world could sever the last few connections to Far Cry's glorious past. The DLC's roguelike structure feels novel but incomplete, another ultimately unsuccessful attempt at mixing things up after Far Cry: New Dawn's RPG elements and Far Cry 5's DLC adventures into new genres. If Ubisoft can do a better job of recapturing the spirit of its other two antagonists in the rest of Far Cry 6's season (or in the recently rumored Vaas film project) franchise fans may finally have something to celebrate in 2021.
