Release Date: September 8, 2006
A sequel to Soldiers: Heroes of World War II, a well-received real-time strategy game released in 2004. Faces of War was developed by Best Way, the creators of the game's predecessor, and the production doesn't differ much in of gameplay mechanics. Faces of War features campaigns (one for each country: US, United Kingdom, Soviet Union and Third Reich), each of them involving an array of varied tasks.
Faces of War is a sequel to a 3D strategy game from 2004, which told the story of soldiers of World War II, entitled Soldiers: Heroes of World War II. Both games were created by the Ukrainian developer BestWay.
The sequel offers four new single player campaigns, in which you play as a commander of American, British, Soviet, or German troops. Faces of War takes you to different fronts of World War II, letting you take part in the famous D-Day or the battle for Berlin. In contrast with the first game, this one also features interesting missions set during winter.
In the game you do not build a base or gather resources, instead focusing solely on military aspect. For each mission you get a set number of men and certain objectives. All units were carefully recreated based on authentic war museum pieces. War machines are characterized by unique statistics, such as varying endurance depending on the spot, heaviness, firepower, fuel consumption, etc.
Soldiers can follow a couple of commands, such as: crawl, crouch, jump over, shoot from around the corner, etc. Apart from the health bar, soldiers have a new statistics – morale. In comparison with the first game, AI of both allies and enemies was improved. Units can cooperate better and handle themselves pretty well when left on their own.
An awaited novelty are new combat units (e.g. flame throwers) and means of transportation. Another novelty is letting the player manually control the aim of a sniper. Some cosmetic changes were also made to Interface.
Faces of War uses the same game engine as Soldier: Heroes of World War II did; however, multiple improvements were made, e.g. to physics, fidelity of the environment, and quality of textures. A freely movable camera offers significant zoom in and out.
Apart from single player, the game offers multiplayer with new maps and play modes.

Strategy
An expansion for the strategy game Faces of War developed by Best Way. You lead the armed forces of the Soviet Union and participate in an alternative version of the events spanning from 1941 to 1945, when the Soviets officially ed the war effort. The story campaign focuses on two students, who are drafted into the army and meet on the front. Faces of War: Brothers in Arms features over ten new, varied missions for every side of the conflict, and a new, improved interface based on the fans' suggestions. The online mode was expanded by adding two new maps and rankings. The visuals and the audio layer have also been improved — the gunshots and explosions sound more realistic now. It's also worth noting that the expansion does not require the base game to run.
