Europa Universalis IV: King of Kings

King of Kings is a new expansion to the strategy game Europa Universalis IV. It introduces over 300 missions, 150 events, 32 new unit models for 8 nations (including Georgia, Armenia, Israel and Cyprus) and 12 musical themes. Persia, the Byzantine Empire and the Mamluk Sultanate have been changed the most thanks to new, unique options for influencing other kingdoms. The expansion was developed by Paradox Tinto.

Mechanics

King of Kings significantly expands the gameplay without altering the key mechanics too much. The expansion focuses on cities, such as Cairo, Constantinople and Isfahan.

New national ideas, reforms and social states create unique paths of development for specific countries. Persia, for example, can influence neighboring countries through culture and art. It's also gained access to missions tied to its current faith. Byzantine Empire was expanded through pronoia (a kind of land ownership) and a number of privileges for social classes. The Mamluk Sultanate, meanwhile, can impose Western culture onto Egyptians and promote pilgrimages to Mecca (hajj).
