Duck Detective: The Ghost of Glamping is a sequel to the game Duck Detective: The Secret Salami, a humorous detective adventure game that debuted in 2024. The second part was developed by the creators of the original, namely the independent German studio Happy Broccoli Games from Berlin.

Story

In Duck Detective: The Ghost of Glamping we once again take on the role of Eugene McQuacklin, the titular duck detective. The protagonist must solve the mystery of the ghost, who allegedly haunts one of the camping fields. The presumed apparition is not the only concern of the protagonist, who has to deal with an annoying partner, cope with the aftermath of a recent divorce, and also face his addiction to bread.

Similar to the first part of the series, the story told here and the events we participate in are treated with a grain of salt.

Duck Detective: The Ghost of Glamping is a very enjoyable little game that’s easy to recommend for anybody looking for a quick and fun experience. Still, it suffers from the same issues the last game had — it could be considered too short due to the fact that there’s only one case to solve.

So Many Games: 4.5 / 5 by Christopher Lannoo

The Duck Detective games are a blast. They provide a perfect entry point to a genre that is slowly getting stacked with excellent games. And even if you’re not all that fussed about investigative work, there is a story mode that makes the deducing a lot easier. The games also only take about two to three hours to finish, so they’re perfect for an afternoon full of fun. And luckily, the game’s end does seem to tease future instalments, which I am 100% here for.

Thumb Culture: 5 / 5

My time with Duck Detective: The Ghost of Glamping was both amazing but short. I’m glad that Happy Broccoli Games have now made two Duck Detective games and I’m hopeful there will be more. I just wish there was more of this sequel just like there are slices of bread in a bag. Hopefully this review would convince people to get this game and start a cult following. Because a game like this should be treasured before it flies south for the winter! I give Duck Detective: The Ghost of Glamping the Thumb Culture Platinum Award.
