Mechanics

The entire gameplay is based on arcade combat and exploration. We observe everything from an isometric perspective, with the exception of a few directed cutscenes.

During the battles, Crow uses mainly his short sword, but can also help himself with magical ranged attacks. Apart from striking out on our own, we also dodge our opponents' attacks by turning at the right moment. Enemies standing in Crow's way take various macabre shapes, depicting the horrors of the land of the dead. You'll face not only doll-like wraiths and overgrown frog-like monsters, but also massive mechanical castles that shoot lasers or "knights" formed from bits of scrap metal ed together. These are divided into regular, rowdy enemies that fill the locations, and tougher bosses with unique attacks and behaviours. Each of these has a mini-story attached to it, expanding the lore of the game world and allowing you to see the main story from a different perspective.

Death's Door also implements a simple system of upgrading our character. Thanks to gained experience points we can improve Raven's stats or improve the operation of specific skills and enhancements. Death's Door is distinguished by original graphic design, looking as if it was hand-painted. Colourful light and particle effects also attract attention, contrasting with the gloomy mood of the game.
