A survival sandbox RPG about an intergalactic explorer. Cubic Odyssey combines space exploration from No Man's Sky with crafting capabilities from Minecraft. We can build not only simply structures, but also spaceships. They can then be used to travel between planets and discover secrets of former civilizations.
Cubic Odyssey is a survival sandbox RPG with a first-person perspective, in which we explore planets using ships constructed by ourselves. The development was handled by the experienced American studio Atypical Games - they are creators of Radiation Island.
In Cubic Odyssey we enter a procedurally generated universe affected by the plague of the Red Darkness. In an attempt to discover its source and how to combat it, we undertake numerous interplanetary and intergalactic journeys, using piloted ships that we have previously constructed by hand. Every celestial body hides secrets and brings a new set of challenges. On our cosmic journey, we meet NPCs, engage in trade, acquire skills, discover crafting recipes, and develop our hero.
On one hand, we have exploration and resource gathering straight from Minecraft. Our adventure begins in a way similar to other survival games, but instead of hitting trees with an axe, we use a laser beam. We extract resources, refine materials and craft everything, from basic tools and workstations to facilities, vehicles or spacecraft.
As we uncover the secrets of ancient civilizations, we come across colossal enemies, gain the ability to build gigantic megastructures, and ultimately use powerful weaponry, such as orbital laser strikes.
We can experience the adventure in Cubic Odyssey alone, or with three other players in cooperative mode.
Cubic Odyssey adopts a blocky, pixelated visual style similar to Minecraft.
