Gameplay

The classics included in Capcom Fighting Collection 2 are fighting games in which we engage in duels in arenas.

  1. Capcom vs. SNK: Millennium Fight 2000 Pro, Capcom vs. SNK 2: Mark of the Millennium 2001 Capcom Fighting Evolution and Street Fighter Alpha 3 UPPER are classic 2D fighting games.
  2. In the case of the Power Stone series, we are dealing with 3D fighting games, in which characters can move freely around the arenas.
  3. The games Plasma Sword: Nightmare of Bilstein and Project Justice, on the other hand, combine three-dimensional graphics with classic side-scrolling, much like the Tekken series.

In each of these productions, we embody characters that vary in of available combat skills and range of attacks. The key to success is using these last ones to create impressive and deadly combos.

Push Square: 9 / 10 by Sammy Barker

Yet another timely reminder that Capcom has been the king of its craft for decades now, Capcom Fighting Collection 2 superbly digs into the Dreamcast era of the Japanese publisher's iconic output. While its commitment to arcade conversions means you're missing some of the single player modes from the various included titles' home console ports, there's simply so much quality content on offer here that it's hard to complain, with the likes of Capcom vs. SNK 2 and Street Fighter Alpha 3 Upper having legitimate claims at being some of the greatest fighters ever made.

NookGaming: 9 / 10 by Andrew Camac

Capcom Fighting Collection 2 is yet another fantastic collection of Capcom fighting games. The selection is a little more mixed in of overall quality, but I feel this collection especially has more of “something for everybody” than the previous two. This is an absolute must-buy for fans of classic fighting games. It may be slightly lacking in the stronger single-player content, especially compared to newer fighting games, but between the charm of titles like Power Stone and Project Justice and the intense action of Capcom vs SNK 1 and 2, you’ll lose just as many hours as you would credits in the arcade.

I am definitely down for more, but curious what is left in the tank. Still, I cannot recommend these collections enough for people who love fighting games. Some of these titles showcase Capcom at their peak and revisiting them has been an absolute delight.

  • Limited Single Player Options: The absence of meaningful single-player content, such as World Tour mode in Alpha 3 or various modes in Project Justice, has been a common criticism.
