Battlefield 1 Expansion Pack
BF1 They Shall Not
Release Date: March 28, 2017
The first paid expansion pack for Battlefield 1 - a popular online shooter game set in the World War I period. They Shall Not brings a new game mode called Frontlines, which combines the Conquest and the Rush modes. Two sides of the conflict fight one another for control over certain, interconnected spots.
They Shall Not is the first pay-to-play expansion pack for Battlefield 1 – a 2016 FPS, which, for the first time in the series, took the players to the theater of World-War I, offering an opportunity to fight on different frontlines of the Great War. Both the core game and this expansion were created by DICE – a Swedish developer that has been part of Electronic Arts since 2006.
Battlefield 1: They Shall Not for PC, XONE and PS4 brings a new game mode called Frontlines, which mingles two, already-existing modes, namely Conquest and Rush. Two sides of the conflict fight one another for control over certain, chainedpoints – when a single spot gets into the hands of one team, the fight is carried over to the next place. Once the last point – the headquarters – is in control of a team, a sequence resembling the Rush mode begins – one team attacks telegraph posts and the other defends them against the opposition.
The expansion introduces a new elite class. Trench Raiders specialize in melee combat and use of grenades. Using their bats and explosives, they are capable of causing much mayhem within the ranks of the enemy. A new behemoth was added here as well (Char 2C Super Heavy Tank) along with St. Chamond tank and a new weapon – the stationary, short barreled Siege Howitzer.
Battlefield 1: They Shall Not for PC, XONE and PS4 also introduces four completely new maps. Verdun Heights gives an opportunity to take part in one of the bloodiest battles of the twentieth century. The players fight here with the accompaniment of roaring mortars and cannons, but also in the smoke of the forest burning around them. One team tries to conquer the stronghold in Verdun, which is located on a heavily fortified hill. Fort Vaux on the other hand, takes the players inside this great structure. The players fight here in a maze of narrow corridors, dead ends, and tunnels buried as a result of bombings. Rupture sends the players to the battle of the Aisne. Here, the French try to take control over the bridges on the river, but the Germans make preparations for an ambush, which is to take place on the battlefield littered with wrecks of combat vehicles. Lastly, Soissons throws the players in the midst of one of the most significant mechanised battles of the First World War. On this map, the French try to reclaim control over this picturesque village, which has fallen into the hands of the Germans. To do so, they make use of new models of tanks, as well as air .

While all of these new additions are great, these expansion sets end up segregating the community between the haves and the have-nots.

They Shall Not is a good start to making that season feel like it was worth the money, though I doubt it will pull many people into buying the full game.
