The next installment in an iconic FPP survival horror series by Frictional Games. The game is set in a WWI-era bunker, while the player, for the first time in the series, can wield a firearm.
Amnesia: The Bunker is the fourth installment in a first-person survival horror series by Frictional Games. The studio has introduced some new features that diversfiy gameplay and give the player a greater sense of freedom. One such novelty is the ability to wield firearms and grenades.
The protagonist of Amnesia: The Bunker is a French soldier, Henri Clement. He is stuck in a WWI-era bunker infested by monsters, including a particularly horrible monstrosity reminiscent of the Xenomorph from Alien: Isolation. The beast dynamically reacts to our actions, often seeming as if it was in several places at once.
The player must survive against the creature. This is made more difficult by the fact that the game's world is semi-open, the age of time works against us, while our actions often have unpredictable consequences.
The aforementioned new feature, firearms - specifically, a revolver - is particularly useful in desperate situations. The player can't go around gunning down enemies, as their ammo is severely limited.
There are, however, more ways to eliminate them. Large groups of monsters can be dispatched with grenades - if we're willing to risk making noise. The beast roaming the bunker constantly hunts us down, waiting for any signs of our presence.
We can end up alerting it rather easily - for example, through Henri's noisy dynamo flashlight. This makes it very risky to use, but oftentimes it is our only source of light. While exploring the bunker we'll also find resources which can be used to craft other useful items.
Amnesia: The Bunker retains the grim, dark artstyle of its predecessors.
