Third expansion for the 4X turn based strategy game from Triumph Studios. Age of Wonders 4: Primal Fury introduces various new content, including primal animals and their bonuses, a new storm realm, new tomes of magic and previously inaccessible mounts.
Age of Wonders 4: Primal Fury is the third expansion and also the second, after Dragon Dawn, "content pack" for the 4X turn-based strategy game Age of Wonders 4 released in May 2023. The authors of the original, the Triumph Studios team, are behind the development of this add-on.
The biggest new feature introduced in Age of Wonders 4: Primal Fury is the so-called primal culture. Thanks to it, we can choose one of the primal animals that will be worshiped by our subjects, providing us with access to unique missions and bonuses. Since certain animals are associated with specific types of terrain, we can use them to transform the game world, gaining various enhancements for our units.
In addition, the expansion introduces a new map - Storm Wreathed Isles, two previously unavailable forms of our subordinates (arcane wolves and satyrs - werewolves), as well as two new tomes of magic. The Tome of Fey Mists allows us to use fog that strengthens units and protects them from ranged attacks, while the Tome of the Stormborne allows us to gain the power of the Naga lords and create Stormbringers, and provides reinforcements from provinces located on the ocean.
The list of new features is topped by four previously unavailable mounts (mammoths, elephants, sabretooths, and crocodiles), six new wildlife units (in addition to the animals mentioned above, there are also infernal juggernauts and pestilence crocodiles), as well as a new interface skin - primal fury.
Primal Fury is a standalone expansion, so it requires the base version of Age of Wonders 4 to run.
