Konami's recently announced return of „a globally loved brand” turned out to be the announcement of a refreshed version of the iconic Suikoden series. It took place during this year's Tokyo Game Show.

Some time ago we informed about the fact that Konami will present a game at this year's Tokyo Game Show that will mark the return of "a globally loved brand." The mysterious announcement almost immediately gave rise to a wave of speculation as to what titles might be involved. Most guesses involved Metal Gear Solid and the next Silent Hill. It turned out that it is neither of these productions. In fact, at TGS we saw the announcement of Suikoden I&II HD Remaster.

Suikoden "a globally loved brand"

Suikoden I&II HD Remaster Gate Rune and Dunan Unification Wars - because that is the full name of the game - will feature refreshed versions of the first two installments of the series, launched in 1995 on the PlayStation console. The whole thing will be available on PC, PlayStation 4, Xbox One (and probably PlayStation 5 and Xbox S/X thanks to backward compatibility) and Nintendo Switch. The official information shows that the game will debut in 2023. At this point we do not know the exact release date.

What changes in the remaster?

In addition to the improved audiovisuals, Konami also announced that the work will offer refreshed effects that "breathe new life" into the animations. In addition, the Japanese developer has added an autosave option, the ability to rewind battles and a chat log to both games. More information can be found in the game's tab on Steam.
