Last year, players ed the developers of the game with $86.4 million. The previous record - $79 million - was set in 2020. In total, to date, Cloud Imperium Games has raised $ 426.7 million. Only in the first two days of 2021 half a million dollars were obtained.
It is worth mentioning that the number of ed s in Star Citizen has exceeded 3.4 million. However, it is not known how many players ed the game financially, as the devs often organize free trial periods.
It should also be mentioned that in late December last year, patch 3.16 was released. It introduced a new PvP mode, Jumptown 2.0, improved clashes in the atmosphere and added mysterious wrecks to Star Citizen, which players can explore in search of valuable loot, while avoiding deadly traps.
Star Citizen was announced over nine years ago. The project's current condition leaves no doubt that the game still has a long way to go.
